Dennis Darling: Bios & Band Info

Dawson

Dawson the Blogging Dog, August 2009

This site is being shared by dD (that's me) a guy with some CDs for sale or rent (you can download at CDBaby.com, or, in some cases for free right here at myonlymessage.com,  or various online sites for about 50 cents, no phone, no pool, no pets, etc.), two bands (Sentimental Journey and Lost & Found) that only sporadically exist in the real world, a playful pup (Dawson) who thinks he's an Internet celebrity, and anybody else that wants to come along for the ride.

Dawson The Famous Blog Dog was adopted by Donna Darling from Pound Rescue in 2008. Nothing certain about the details of present or previous lives, except that he likes to wander off when he thinks no one cares about him, is most decidedly in love with going places in any kind of vehicle, does not like to be out in the rain, and feels very strongly that the purpose of life is play, period. Surreptitiously gets on the computer and types in all manner of halftruths, bad puns, clever parody, and barely-disguised gossipy documentation of the comings-and-goings-on of his sometimes pathetic and frequently inept human companions.

Charlie

Charlie "The Miracle Man" Brittin has played in, at last count, 5,348 bands. No kidding! And he still plays in at least 4,999 of them! But seriously, folks........Charlie grew up playing bass in his Dad's various dance and jazz groups, honed his bass chops in some really loud bands in the 1970's, and, well past the age when a lot of guys give it up, continues to be the rock upon which many fine bands, including Lost & Found, build their musical edifice. He grew up in Springfield, tunes pianos for a living, and probably knows more people, and a wider spectrum of people, spread out over a wider area, than would seem possible for your average human being. But Charlie ain't no average Joe. We call him "The Miracle Man" because he has survived and thrived in the face of some serious medical challenges, with the love of his wife Sallie and his family, and by the grace of God, and also because it's a miracle the way that we can hand him a piece of notebook paper with some words and chords scrawled on it, probably to a song he's never heard before, or that nobody's ever heard before, and he can plunk-a-dunk through it on first reading on one of his customized bass instruments as though he's been playing that tune for years. He does amazing woodworking with inexpensive stock, builds lots of cool model cars, acts as worship director for his church, takes vacations in some great places, and looks after his cats. He also brings new meaning to the word "friend", as anyone who knows him will testify.

Charlie was taken from this world and lifted into glory on April 6, 2011.  God rest his soul.

Donna

Donna has been performing since she was a very young child. Her first stage instrument was the accordion. She has also played violin, mandolin, banjo, piano, guitar, and probably some other instruments she hasn't told us about. For the two bands, Lost & Found and Sentimental Journey, she plays percussion and adds backing vocals in her highly individualized style. In addition to being the mother of four children, Donna has written and produced plays, choreographed dance for school and community productions, done volunteer pastoral and psychological counselling, made presentations on dealing with grief, raising children with medical challenges, senior care, and other topics, led church youth groups, and sponsored or conducted various other ministry-related activities. She is a certfied activity director and a licensed medical massage therapist, too. Reputedly, she is the adoptive parent of a reknowned blogging dog named Dawson. She is a picture of Grace.
